Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
These terms govern your use of SriBazaar. By creating an account, posting a listing or otherwise using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What SriBazaar is
SriBazaar is a classified-listing platform. We provide the place where buyers and sellers find each other; we are not a party to any sale. We do not own, inspect, guarantee or take possession of anything advertised, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of a listing, the condition of an item, or the conduct of any user.
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and you must verify your email address before you can publish a listing. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. Please tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed it.
You may hold only one account unless we agree otherwise, and the details you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
Posting listings
Listings are free to publish and go live immediately — there is no approval queue. That places the responsibility on you: you must have the right to sell what you advertise, describe it honestly, use your own photographs or images you are entitled to use, set a genuine price and post in the correct category.
You keep ownership of the content you upload. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive licence to display, resize, translate and promote that content on SriBazaar and in material advertising the platform, for as long as the listing remains on the site.
What may not be listed
You may not use SriBazaar to advertise or offer:
- Anything whose sale or possession is unlawful in Sri Lanka.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or drugs and related paraphernalia.
- Stolen goods, counterfeit items, or goods that infringe someone else's trade mark or copyright.
- Live animals offered in breach of applicable animal-welfare law, and any protected wildlife or its parts.
- Human remains, body parts or bodily fluids.
- Sexual services, pornography, or any content that sexualises a minor.
- Government-issued identity documents, other people's personal data, or account credentials.
- Financial schemes, chain-referral offers or other arrangements designed to defraud.
- Content that is hateful, threatening, defamatory or harassing.
Duplicate listings, listings placed in the wrong category and misleading titles or prices are also not permitted.
Reporting and moderation
Any user can report a listing that appears to break these rules. A report is reviewed by an administrator before any action is taken — reporting a listing does not by itself remove it or penalise the seller. Reports are rate-limited, and the identity of the person reporting is not revealed to the seller.
Where a listing breaks the rules, an administrator may hide, restrict or remove it. A listing in any of those states stops appearing in search results, on category pages, in recommendations and in promotional placements, and stops receiving any boosted ranking benefit — even if a boost has been paid for and has not yet expired.
Warnings and suspension
Where an administrator finds a genuine violation, a warning is recorded against the seller with a reason and, where relevant, a reference to the listing concerned. Warnings work as a ladder:
- A first warning notifies you and records the violation.
- A second warning notifies you that a further valid warning will suspend your account.
- A third active warning suspends the account automatically.
While suspended you cannot create listings, and cannot edit, boost, promote or renew existing ones. Your account, listings, payment records and moderation history are preserved rather than deleted. A warning that is later revoked does not count towards suspension, and an administrator may restore a suspended account on review. Serious or repeated abuse may result in a permanent ban.
Paid boosts and promotions
Boosts and promotional placements are optional paid features that increase the visibility of a listing for a fixed period. They are activated only after your payment has been confirmed by PayHere on our servers — returning to the site from the payment page does not by itself activate anything.
A boost has a defined start and expiry time, and stops affecting placement automatically when it expires. A boost never overrides moderation: it cannot restore or promote a listing that has been hidden, restricted or removed, and it has no effect while the seller's account is suspended. A boost improves a listing's ranking in search results and category pages — it does not place a listing in the home page's dedicated Sponsored slot, which is reserved for a separate paid promotional campaign shown only while your account is not suspended and only for the campaign's active, unexpired period.
Prices are shown before you pay. Because a boost begins delivering visibility as soon as it is activated, payments are generally non-refundable once the boost has started. If a paid feature fails to run because of a fault on our side, contact us and we will extend it or refund the unused portion.
Search results and suggestions
Search results, category pages and the suggestions that appear as you type are ordered automatically. We do not guarantee that any listing will appear in search results, in suggestions, or in any particular position, and we may change how listings are ranked or suggested at any time.
A paid boost gives a listing a limited advantage in that ordering for the period you bought, and nothing more. It does not guarantee a position, and it never causes a hidden, restricted or removed listing — or a listing belonging to a suspended seller — to be shown or suggested.
Attempting to manipulate search results or suggestions is a breach of these terms and may result in a warning under the process above. This includes repeating searches to inflate a term, padding a title or description with keywords that do not describe what you are selling, and posting duplicate listings to occupy more results.
Seller verification
You may apply for verified-seller status by submitting a National Identity Card or passport. Submitting a document does not make you verified — an administrator must review and approve the application, and it may be rejected. Documents are handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Submitting a document that is not your own, or that has been altered, will result in rejection and may result in suspension.
Dealing with other users
Transactions are between buyer and seller. Meet in a safe public place, inspect goods before paying, be cautious of any request for payment in advance, and do not share one-time codes or account credentials with anyone. SriBazaar does not hold funds, does not act as an escrow service and cannot recover money you have paid to another user.
Availability of the service
We aim to keep SriBazaar available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, and may carry out maintenance that makes it temporarily unavailable.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SriBazaar is not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between users, from reliance on the contents of a listing, from the conduct of any user, or from any interruption to the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending your use of SriBazaar
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, in line with the warning process described above. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including liability, governing law and the licence over content still published on the site — continue to apply after an account ends.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service develops. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and continuing to use SriBazaar after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the service.
